Good Grief!

Jeez, I didn't know it had been so long since I posted!!
Well, I had a good visit with my grandma in Palm Desert. It was a little sad to see that she had deteriorated so much in the last couple of years, but she was still in good spirits. I also got to see a cousin that I hadn't seen in about 10 or 12 years.

I gave my two week notice at work, and as of the 19th I will once again be a stay-at-home mom. The stress of balancing work and school related things has just become too much, and I no longer enjoy my job anyway. The 19th also happens to be the day of the Interpol concert, so it will be an extra sweet day.

Last night I went to stay with a close friend of mine who was having a crisis... she went on a weekend hunting trip with her boyfriend and a few others, and while unloading his rifle from the back of the truck, it went off and shot him. So, he's in ICU, and probably will be for awhile. Complicating matters is that the boyfriend is in the process of getting a divorce, but it's not finalized yet. So, his (ex)wife still has the final say in his care and has specifically banned my friend from seeing him. The hospital staff said that it won't matter once he's awake and can say for himself that he wants her in there. But for now, she's not allowed in, which is really tearing her up. Plus, she's having terrible nightmares about it. After a night of supporting her, I'm totally sapped. I didn't get any sleep last night. I'm glad I could be there for her though. It's such an awful situation.

Well, that's about it for now... I sure am looking forward to having a bit more time to blog after I'm not working anymore!
