Holiday Stress

Well, we're nearly done shopping but I'm getting stressed out about Christmas. I come from a small family that doesn't make a big to-do about Christmas, so the holidays really wear me out now. We've got to split it between hubby's family and mine, and by the time new year's passes I'm so done being social...
We're getting our Christmas tree this week. There has been a lot of bickering going on in the papers about Christmas vs 'Holiday'... I think people who are offended by one or the other have too much time on their hands and really ought to get another hobby. 'Holiday' pretty much covers everyone who celebrates something this time of year. Christians don't have a monopoly on wintertime celebration. Jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December anyway.
I'm reading the 'Nanny 911' book... so maybe it will give me some insight into communicating with my 3 year old (who is really an emotional basket case these days). Yesterday, she had a colossal meltdown that lasted all afternoon, complicated by the fact that she poked herself in the eye while rolling off the couch. Thankfully, she has been reasonable today, except that she didn't eat any dinner. (that's nothing new, she never eats dinner anymore, it seems)
