Heh...

Last summer, my kids planted some seeds from apples in our yard. They *all* came up. Of those, three survived. I now have three apple tree seedlings growing in my yard. I'm only planning to keep two, so I'm sort of leaving the third one to its own devices. Anyway, I have been doing some reading about growing apple trees from seed... apparently, it will probably take around 10 years for it to get big enough to fruit. So, maybe, if we're lucky, my daughter's high school graduation gift might be... apples.
