Just a Reminder...

Of our mortality...

I just found out today that my dad is having surgery on Tuesday to remove a bladder growth. The doctors don't know yet if it's cancer or not. The surgeon said that he's confident that he can get it all out, and that even if it's malignant he probably won't need any chemo or radiation, just followup testing every six months or so. My dad is terrified. I can't help but wonder what will happen if it turns out to be something worse than they think. Not just for me, but for my mom. If something happened to my dad, my mom would be completely and totally devastated. It is very scary for all of us. He wants to see me, so I'm driving up to Washington tomorrow to see them.
*sigh*

Stephanie, I hope everything will be ok. I'll keep him in my thoughts.
It's so scary now, how we have to worry about our parents, when before they did all the worrying.
((hugs))
