It is likely that next month, after the holidays are over, I'll have to hunker down for some serious sleep training with my little son. I loathe the idea, I didn't have to do much with Coralie until she was 9 months old and she started night waking again. I used some no-cry techniques with her that were mildly successful until she turned 1, then I just had to let her cry. By then, I didn't feel as bad because she wasn't a tiny baby anymore, and it was much more obvious when she was just jerking my chain. Keelan is totally different. He does not like being in the crib. He wants to be in my lap. He sleeps really well on his tummy, but hates it if I put him down that way. In fact, he often hates it when he puts himself that way, but if he can manage to fall asleep, he'll sleep up to 6 hours. So the past couple of days, I've been letting him cry a while, while I stand by the crib and try to convince him that I'm not abandoning him. I don't think he believes me. I just don't know how much more of these waking every 2-3 hours nights I can take.
And now, from the 'Gee Where Do You Think She Got That From' department...
Coralie has a new phrase-- a couple, actually:
'Daddy has to take a leak!'
and
'Mommy, I'm taking a leak!'
Proof positive that they really are always listening...

What about your kid slamming her fist on the table and saying 'damn it' when she loses at Dora Uno?
I hear ya.
