My daughter has it in for Ned (our goldfish). Ned used to be in her room, but was moved to the living room because she kept putting foreign objects in his tank (hair ties, garment tags, felt pieces from her felt board, and my favorite, toilet paper). Today was Ned's first day in his new tank in the living room, and I caught her playing in it this morning. Poor Ned.
My husband has some Hot Wheels that he thinks are collectible so they are in a plastic display case on the wall of the family room. Unfortunately, I found out today that Coralie can scale the back of the nearby recliner to reach them.
And from the Sometimes Learning Something New Has a Downside department- I recently taught her how to unscrew caps. Today, she took the cap off of her toothpaste and was happily eating it right out of the tube. Her toothpaste now resides in the hall closet.
The Exchange That Made None Of These Things Matter:
During story time before bed, she was poking herself in the tummy, saying 'BEEP BEEP BEEP'... then she pointed at my hand, then back at her tummy and said, 'Can you beep it?'
